What happens when you use one of the AI tools as an extension of your thinking? You now have an interface where you can articulate your desire to know—to know how, to know what. That articulation is enough to turn electricity into processing, and processing into intelligence. In that process, you are becoming an extended version of yourself in terms of your capacity to think, imagine, and create.
But here lies the foundational distinction between what can happen and what actually happens—what we can consider true extension, true empowerment, or true betterment.
The dividing line is your inner fountain: the spring of your true originality, authenticity, and newness. It is the genius of your heart, that which cannot be measured. This is where the word "creation" is evidence of the question itself, not the science behind it. The creation of the new is not mechanical. True innovation does not come from the known; in fact, its source is often unknown.
And why is this the dividing line, the edge of the cliff? Because the more of the known that you bring in, the less room there is for the unknown to be at work in your life, as your life. That inner fountain dries up faster when you use AI. "Dried" is even too soft a word; it literally disappears, becoming unfound.
The fountain is found only when you are lost in it—when the creative force of your life is the creative reality. It is found when your thinking mind, your knowledge, and your mechanical processing are not in control and are not guiding your flow. That mechanical mind is there to perform tasks and present things to you, but it is not the real creator. The creator is the unknown.
To me, this concept is far harder to articulate than it is to experience in reality. And in reality, it exists only as a question, an openness. I don't "know" this, yet approaching it this way has never disappointed or misled me. It has never led to confusion; on the contrary.
So, back to AI and how to use it. An AI that helps you is one that allows the dance with it to give you more room to be in a free, creative flow—not one guided by AI or by the "AI" of your own mind. It facilitates real exploration, moving from not-knowing to not-knowing, enabling the true serendipity required for innovation. An AI designed to nurture, facilitate, and protect that rare state of being is an AI that can truly extend your capacity.
But be aware: AI cannot help you be free. It cannot help you be original or authentic. It cannot help you. It can only amplify what you ask of it. In that sense, it can serve as a bigger whiteboard for your revelations.
However, if you realize that the whiteboard is the treasure, it means you don't care what's written on it. The blankness of the canvas, whether small or huge, becomes equally precious. But if you are interested in what is written on the white pages, then be sure that you are going to be totally lost within the infinite ripples of data you've triggered, with no capacity to be free from them.
It's a very delicate line that, it seems to me, most people are not aware of. And yet, it's very easy to become aware of it. That's why this is being said.
