Aware of the inner space?

Aware of the inner space?

What does it mean to be aware of your inner space?
You live your day. Activities happen around you in the physical dimension, and in you in the psychological dimensions.
But all is met through, by, and as the inner space.

If the inner space is an ocean, it may be stormy, it may be quiet, it may be deep, it may be shallow, it may be clear, it may be contaminated.
But all those are the happenings.

What is the nature of water before it is segmented as an ocean for our conversation?
So, in paraphrase: what is the nature of inner space before it is formed into consciousness, mind, or whatever words and ideas we give it?
And before it has presented itself through the happenings, the changes, and so on?

I don't think it's hard to ask this question. There are questions that are much more complex.
And I don't think it's hard to see, if you truly look. Not if you accept whatever someone says.
That you don't know.
You don't know what is the nature of the watery space of the ocean, or of the conscious state of yourself.

You don't know because it doesn't have shape.
The names you give it only add to it, but they cannot extract it in terms of understanding.
It is always as it is, but never the same. It's not a constant. It's not an object.

And the only thing I feel, at least for me, that makes this inquiry come to life, is that this inner space never fails to be inner space.
Your body can fail. You can lose your leg. The events can fail. You'll be disappointed in every possible way.
Even your life of a human being may fail, and you die.

But the inner space, prior to recognition, prior to knowing, prior to approval that it is an inner space, which by itself is a question, can never fail.

So wouldn't you want to inquire into that which is closer to you than yourself, and can never fail?
This must be a beautiful inquiry, if you can give yourself to it and let it swallow you.
