To see the thoughts as thoughts, no more, no less. Their content may be impressive, valuable, assessed as significant, and they carry the same weight as the most futile, irrelevant, and useless thoughts. Thought is a thought.
How many thoughts did you entertain through your life? How many thoughts that you entertained, that you hosted, that you created, embraced, lived, how many of such thoughts do you hold on to? Are you, as you are, as you live, the result of the thoughts that you hold on to? Identity, preference, opinion.
To see thoughts as thoughts, no more, no less, could it be the liberating factor, where all that you hold on to, that you take to be what you are, simply dissolves in terms of the grasp? It is seen as a thought, which is another word to imagination, and in that it loses its power over you, over your field of freedom, inner freedom, and you are, in that, finding out what it truly is to live free.
Thought tells you that to live free is impossible, or, and I refer to absolutely free, and if not impossible, it is kept for very rare, very special cases throughout history. That's what thought is saying, but the truth may be totally different, and it's not important what you think. What's important is, can you see, by watching objectively, a thought as a thought?
Now, tell me, what's in you, that you see, in your inner world, is not a thought? Is it possible that anything that's passing through the field of your consciousness is a thought? Anything that passed, that is passing, and that will pass, if it's there, if you see it, if you feel it, if you can touch it, it's a thought. Is it? Ask yourself.
Your freedom is asking you to ask yourself to be free, absolutely free. Why? For no reason at all, not even a fraction of a reason, not at all.
