What if the biggest barrier, the biggest limitation to a human’s creative potential, is the human itself? By that I mean: by “the human itself,” I mean the activity, the so-called creative activity, that the human is doing. What if human consciousness is the creative act? It’s like the cosmos is the creative act, and the tree on the planet grows in absolute alignment with the cosmic totality: sun, air, other forces.
Similarly, what if human consciousness, at its essence, base, pure origin, is that which gives birth to any originality, any newness, any novelty, any innovation, any creativity that is free from the driver, the person, you yourself, your actions, your so-called creative actions? What if your creative actions need to, I wouldn’t say end, because they will only become more powerful, but end in the sense of your guidance? What if you need to stop driving your creative process and learn how to synchronize yourself with itself, how to listen to the creative process and not tell it what to do, how to contribute to the creative process and not move it in order to gain something out of it?
That can only happen when the creative essence flowers, becomes real in your life experience, and manifests as beauty, inner beauty, at the state of pure originality, pure newness, a pure start that never gets old. The quality of that mind, or if you want, the quality of consciousness that is raw, then shines in that mind and guides the creative process as itself, without the help of the opinionated mind.
Maybe it sounds complicated. Maybe it sounds out of touch. Maybe it sounds irrelevant. To me, that question, if you can ask it, is already bringing you to that fountain of originality. But you have to ask it with no attempt to know the answer. You have to let the question take over, then move with it and see where it takes you.
