Question not the future of the job market, question a future where the job market is absent, doesn't exist. The fact that you got used to, you and previous generations, to the reality that in order to make a living you need a job to pay your monthly or whatever expenses, got us so conditioned to this reality. Now that there is an opportunity, once in a lifetime, for escaping the rat race way of living, and even deeper, to be free from the rat race mentality, the most freeing act is to question a future where the job market is absent. What would you do? What would be your approach to a livelihood when the option to apply and get a job and get a paycheck doesn't exist?
Now, you may say it's too radical, and honestly, to me, not only it's inevitable, it's shockingly weird that that question is not asked, because the market heavily invests and super motivates to grow a talent which is made by compute. You know it as AI agents, but it goes way beyond that. It's an intelligence of productivity that is more valuable the less human touch is needed to operate it, and all the gap between today and that inevitable future is being sold to you as a bridge that will stay, but that bridge will be broken the moment the value will shift to the autonomous value creation.
So the employers of the futures are machines, are robots, software robots, physical robots, mental robots, emotional robots, living robots to the extent that would be possible. And then you would still be there. What would you do? How would you reclaim your benefits from the value that you create, or what kind of value you should offer to this weird ecosystem that will have a price or will entitle you with some kind of attraction for investment, directly and indirectly, and that leave you only two options which you have to accept today and make your choice yesterday.
Option one, you say this dominance of intelligence which is artificial, which is an autonomous value ecosystem, value creation ecosystem, learn how to serve that, be a servant, be a service to that, feed it, train it, fill in the gaps in it, and so on and so on, and it will pay you, it will pay the bills, it may pay you incentives, work for the machine. If that's what your whole living intelligence within you tells you, then go ahead and enjoy the rotten fruits that you will be eating from that.
Your other option is to have the courage to question what kind of value the machine can never touch, can never create, and you have to ask with it. You have to start with that question from a place that you truly don't know, don't guess, don't assume anything. If you can question like that, you hold it in your hand, you hold the value in your hand, because a question beyond the limitation of knowledge is a question that the AI can never touch, and that skill can open doors for you beyond anything that is known today and onward.
When knowledge is invented by the machine at scale, at speed, at magnitude that human consciousness cannot even comprehend, it doesn't change the fact that it only builds upon existing knowledge. So will you, as a human consciousness, be able to break out of the limitation of knowledge? That's your second option, to find out, to question that, and to start that question from truly, truly not knowing. Now you're on your own, and it's totally up to you how serious you are in this inquiry.
